Welcome Back!

For those of you who may be visiting our blog for the first time, WELCOME. This is the place where I, Nichole ramble about a lot of stuff, mostly my family which includes my man and the awesome kiddos to whom I have the pleasure of being a mom. I also enjoy writing about the things that I love like cooking, decorating and most of all my walk with the Lord. For those of you who have followed our blog, WELCOME BACK to the new and improved "Emily Makes 6". Sorry that I have been private for so long. It wasn't really my intention to stay private this long but there were some circumstances that caused the long bout of secrecy. More about that reason later. As you can see we got a cute face-lift including a brand new name as well as the face of a brown-eyed boy in the header. Just in case you haven't figured it out we are "expecting". This little sweetie......

will be joining our pack and is the reason we were private for such a long time. At the time of discovering our new son on a waiting child list we were not planning on adopting again and had not collected a single document for our dossier. Knowing that our time frames for bringing our little guy home would be long and we were starting from scratch we wanted to wait until we were at lease within shouting distance of travel before we shared our news. We now have our LOA and we are shoutin'. We still have a few more documents to acquire before we make our journey across the globe to scoop up this bundle of cuteness but we are heading down the homestretch.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that we are once again journeying to another son but I think I always knew in my heart that Emily wasn't our last. The thought of it all is a little scary sometimes, I mean we have A LOT going on in our family right now so this is certainly a big 'ol leap of faith but I am totally convinced that as God's children we are at our best when we are hanging on for dear life to the ONE who knows what the future holds. HE sees the glorious end and I know that I am always so much closer to My Father when I am following Him step by step, trusting in that hand that is guiding me to the finale that HE has planned. Is the walk easy? NOOOOO! Is it full of tough stuff? YESSSSS! But is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!!! The way that God brought us to our little guy is nothing short of miraculous and I have shared the amazing details on our new blog Our Brown-eyed Boy. Click the star button on the side bar and it will take you directly to this blog or you can just click here. We would love to have you follow along with us as we run this race to our little boy. It is sure to be an "Amazing Race" minus any "pit stops" and eating anything strange...(I hope).

Thanks for checking back in with us despite our MIA status for so long. I posted quite a few entries while we were private so if you want to catch up on what we've been doing you can check out some older posts. I have listed the new posts on the top of the side bar for easy reference. Just click on the title and it will take you directly to that post.

I hope your days are filled with lots of fun and excitement.
